NEXO has announced the launch of the new microNXAMP4X1 Powered TD Controller, which combines four-channel Class-D amplification with signal processing for all of the company’s loudspeakers joined by a universal power supply with PFC and native Dante connectivity.
Positioned in power rating between the nanoNXAMP4 and NXAMPMk2 and available in both touring and fixed installation versions with appropriate connectivity for each, the microNXAMP4X1 is housed in a 1U rack-mount case. It has a 1.8-inch color TFT on the front panel displaying information that includes level meters, IP address, and more, with all DSP parameters available to monitor or set-up using NEXO’s NeMo remote control software.
The four Class-D amplifier channels deliver 1000 watts each into 4 Ohms and can be bridged in series – the classic “bridge” mode for power amplifiers – and also in parallel to support lower output impedance, or both combining the four channels into 4000 watts output. These various modes are configurable from the software and do not need external adaptors.
The microNXAMP4X1 offers two multicore DSPs inherited directly from the flagship NXAMPMk2 that’s equipped to host new algorithms and run next-generation firmware updates.
With its continuous usable mains voltage range from 100 to 240 Volts, the microNXAMP4X1 can be used worldwide and run on all types of power generators. PFC (Power Factor Correction) technology helps ensure power conversion efficiency is optimized and that the current drawn is smoothed and spike-free to limit stress on the mains network.
microNXAMP4X1 power consumption in stand-by mode conforms with ENERGY STAR certification requirements. A variety of wake-up modes include a network command, audio level detection or front panel button press, helping ensure that stand-by power consumption is tailored to the specific requirements of each use case.
NEXO sales and marketing director Gareth Collyer states, “microNXAMP4X1 provides installers and rental companies with a highly versatile and cost-effective new amplification and processing solution that significantly reduces the cost of NEXO P+ Series systems in particular.”
