Theatre Technician

Casual positions available

$35.04 per hour plus 11% Superannuation

Location: Traralgon

The Role

As a Theatre Technician with Latrobe City Council, you will supervise the safe and efficient set up and set down of productions and ensures Occupational Health & Safety procedures are followed. You will provide exemplary and efficient services in all aspects of technical theatre and venue operations at Councils Creative Venues with a focus on Gippsland Performing Arts Centre.

Theatre Technician work is rostered and on occasion you will be required to work evenings and weekends.

About You

You will have experience and knowledge of stage production, stage management procedures and theatre etiquette. You will also have highly developed interpersonal and negotiation skills, and the ability to maintain good working relationships with a wide range of internal and external stakeholders.

You will need:

Essential

  • Experience working in a theatre or entertainment industry environment
  • Experience with dealing with technical production and artistic personnel
  • Knowledge of OH&S regulations
  • Current Driver’s License

Successful applicants are required to apply for and satisfactorily obtain a National Police Check and Working with Children’s Check and also undergo a pre-employment medical check.

Desirable

  • Current certificate of Electrical Safety/Test and Tag, Scissor Lift and Vertical Lift license
  • First Aid
  • Fire Warden Certificate
  • Working Safely at Heights
  • A tertiary qualification in Live Production, Audio, Lighting, Theatre or Multimedia
