Technician

The Burnie City Council has embarked upon a ground-breaking process to reimagine the delivery of its arts and cultural services. This will be achieved through the creation of a redesigned single site arts centre incorporating gallery, museum and performing arts activities, creating a new community hub for the people of Burnie.

To assist in bringing this vision to life, we are looking for a passionate and suitably qualified individual to fill the new part time vacancy of Technician within the Arts Centre Technical team.

The role of Technician is a vital link in the Burnie Arts Centre’s delivery of professional, courteous, and efficient customer service.

This a varied role that will see you acquire sound working knowledge of the Arts Centre infrastructure, activities, projects, and procedures with the expectation of providing efficient and effective technical support and maintenance.


About You

You will have the ability to work as part of a team to deliver technical services of the highest possible standard.

You will have proven aptitude and interest in technical matters, particularly pertaining to a performing arts and/or convention centre.

You will work collaboratively across a wide range of stakeholder groups; your communication skills will be exceptional, and you will share your technical expertise with internal and external stakeholders.   

You will be flexible with your time and thrive in a busy and ever-changing environment.

Please note;

This position can involve working outside of normal hours to support performances and events in the evenings and at weekends.
