We are currently seeking up to 4 enthusiastic and dedicated individuals to join our Production Services team in the full-time 12-month position of Technical Production Trainee to commence in January/February 2024.
You will gain on the job training while working closely with QPAC’s experienced Production Services professionals, as well as undertaking a Certificate III in Live Production and Technical Services. Reporting to the Manager – Technical Training, you will receive hands-on work experience across the nominated areas of QPAC (staging, audio/visual, and lighting) and experience all technical operations of a major performing arts centre.
To be considered for this role, you will have completed your Senior High School Certificate (or equivalent) and be flexible, self-motivated, responsible and have an enthusiastic approach to work.
You will also possess:
- A demonstrated interest in Technical Production and a desire to explore and develop a career in the Performing Arts.
- Excellent interpersonal skills, the ability to communicate effectively and work in a team with a professional and positive manner.
- The ability to plan and coordinate work effectively to complete assigned tasks and meet team and production standards.
- A demonstrated ability to take direction and apply acquired knowledge to satisfy the requirements of assigned tasks.
- The physical capability to frequently perform the inherent requirements of the role including manual work tasks that may involve strenuous activity and repetitive actions.
Availability is required across a seven-day roster for day, evening, and weekend shifts to meet operational demands. Full-time Technical Production Trainees are required to work a total of 38 ordinary hours per week (inclusive of approved training.)
This opportunity is not open to those with higher levels of qualification, such as Certificate IV qualifications or undergraduate degrees.
