Solid State Logic (SSL) announces the debut of the new SSL 1, a compact, 2?channel, plug and play USB audio interface designed for those beginning their creative journey as well as more experienced producers.
Offering power options, including bus power or a 5-volt external source such as a phone charger or power bank, SSL 1 is well suited to mobile recording setups and offers use with USB Audio Class 2.0 phones and tablets, as well as Mac and Windows computers. Channel 1 features an XLR input with +48-volt phantom power, while channel 2 offers a dedicated instrument/line input for direct recording of guitars, synths, and other electronic instruments.
The included SSL Production Pack also provides a range of amp modeling tools and creative processing options, making it easier to shape inspiring tones for guitar and beyond. SSL 1 is also designed for live performance applications, providing quality conversion and stereo output for software such as Ableton Live at a festival or in the DJ booth at a club.
Finally, with its single mic input, high current headphone output and near-zero-latency monitoring, the SSL 1 is an option for live streamers. The unit offers three stereo loopback channels for capturing device audio, and its ability to be powered externally means it can be used with mobile devices and tablets without causing excessive battery drain.
