Ayrton has announced the release of Nando 1202, a versatile hybrid addition to the Nando family.
Embracing a minimalist design philosophy and focusing on the delivery of a spectacular quality of light and sublime colours, Nando 1202 is a precision machine with a fast linear zoom, a 3.5° – 53° beam aperture and, like its smaller sibling, Nando 502, its IP65 rating makes it purpose-built for hybrid use, indoors or out.
Nando 1202 is equipped with 28 high-performance 50W RGB-L LEDs delivering a remarkable output of 25,000 lumens, and a flicker-free beam. The addition of a lime chip enriches colours, increases output, and brings the advantage of improved integration within the colour space, enabling colour repeatability with a CRI above 86.
For this fixture, Ayrton has developed a unique concept: at its heart lies a single-piece 303mm PMMA cluster, coupled with 28 precision-machined glass light guides featuring micro-structured output surfaces. These offer an optimal diffusion level and a significant increase in luminous flux.
Its black honeycomb and perfect separation of the light sources significantly boost the level of contrast. What’s more, an anti-reflective treated front glass window guarantees an optimal visual result. These, along with the flicker-free source, make Nando 1202 particularly suitable for TV applications and all video recorded events.
Nando 1202 is perfectly designed for stage lighting too. The sophisticated four-colour LED source offers additive colour mixing that produces beautifully blended pastels and rich saturated colours with flawless consistency and no colour shadows.
Designed for perfect colour reproduction, Nando 1202 includes a comprehensive library of hundreds of colours, as well as raw colour control with direct access to RGBL, or calibrated RGB mode with automatic Lime insertion. A virtual CTC channel enables the adjustment of the white point from 2500K to 8000K, and a tint control channel allows +/- green for perfect rendition on camera. In all, Nando 1202’s colour control allows infinite crafting of subtle, dense, or high-contrast washes to be created quickly.
Thanks to individual control of each LED, Nando 1202 can deliver 3D volumetric effects and 2D graphical looks. A library of built-in pattern effects, with speed and fade controls can be coupled with beam, wash or matrix applications for unique scenic applications.
Nando 1202 shifts effortlessly from Beam to Wash, boasting a 15:1 zoom ratio and a wide operating range — from a tight 3.5° beam to a generous 53° spread. Coupled with extremely accurate positioning and a moving head range from 540° pan to 255° tilt, Nando 1202 has all the versatility and quality clients have come to expect from Ayrton products.
Nando 1202’s new minimalist design, with reduced thickness of the aluminium parts, optimised cooling system, simplified lens guidance, and integrated low-density optical components, have reduced its weight by 20%, while still providing complete accessibility to the luminaire’s functions.
