Whitehorse’s new performing arts centre is an innovative, versatile and inspiring cultural venue set in an expansive parkland setting. The facility offers large-scale theatrical performances and intimate shows across two theatres, festivals in the natural amphitheatre, classes in purpose-built spaces and function spaces for events.

The role:

The Technician will support the technical operation and use of the facilities and equipment in The Round and other managed venues and events ensuring that outcomes are best practice.

This position will primarily assist with the installation, operation, and maintenance of lighting, sound, stage and audio-visual equipment/facilities.

About you:

  • Knowledge and skills in areas of audio, lighting, flying and/or staging – either in the performing arts industry or equivalent transferable skills from another industry.
  • Sound decision making and problem solving skills.
  • Demonstrated experience in providing flexible, friendly and focussed customer service
  • Ability to work within a team or independently and good verbal communication skills to liaise with co-workers and users of The Round
  • Knowledge of and commitment to Occupational Health and Safety, especially in regard to theatre operations.
