Technical Support Operator – Audio, Lighting & AV Systems

About the Role

We are seeking two Technical Support Operators to join our Technical Systems team, with opportunities available in Mascot and Port Melbourne. This role is ideal for someone with a genuine interest or background in audio, lighting, AV systems or related technology, who enjoys solving problems and helping customers. You will be the first point of contact for technical enquiries across a range of professional products, assisting dealers, end users and internal stakeholders via phone and email.

This is a specialist product support role focused on professional audio, lighting and AV technology rather than a traditional desktop IT helpdesk environment. Over time, you will broaden your technical capability across multiple product categories and develop into more advanced technical support and systems-based work.

Key responsibilities include:

  • taking ownership of and responding to technical enquiries from customers, dealers and internal teams via phone and email;
  • troubleshooting issues across audio, lighting, AV and DJ-related products;
  • providing practical guidance, fault-finding support and product advice;
  • maintaining accurate case notes and customer records in our CRM;
  • building and maintain technical knowledge across our product portfolio; and  
  • working collaboratively with colleagues throughout Australia and New Zealand to ensure a seamless customer experience.


About You

We’re looking for someone who is motivated, curious and ready to build their career in technical support. You don’t need to know everything on day one – what matters is your attitude and willingness to learn.

What you’ll bring:

  • A Graduate Certificate and / or equivalent qualifications in audio visual and lighting or a related field will be desirable.
  • General technical knowledge of audio visual and / or lighting equipment.
  • Basic networking knowledge (IP devices, switches, connectivity).
  • An interest in developing a broad, cross-functional skillset.
  • Strong problem-solving ability and the patience to work through customer queries.
  • Comfort using computers, CRM tools and learning new systems.
  • Clear communication skills, especially over the phone and email.
  • A proactive attitude – you like to dig in, learn new products and share knowledge with others.
