Technical Production Officer

We have a few exciting opportunities for Technical Production Officers to join our positive team based at Hurstville Entertainment Centre and related facilities.

What we Offer

  • One (1) Temporary, Fulltime role till June 2024 – 70 hours per fortnight OR
  • One (1) Permanent, Fulltime role – 70 hours per fortnight
  • Salary from $62,487.60 – $72, 401.04 per annum plus 11% superannuation dependant on the skills, qualifications and relevant experience of the suitable candidate

About The Roles

These roles sit within our Community and Culture Directorate and the Technical Production Officers ensure that customers of the Hurstville Entertainment Centre, Community Centres and Halls for Hire obtain the best service and facilities by delivering the technical and operational requirements of events.

  • Deliver all production requirements for events at the Hurstville Entertainment Centre, Community Centres and Halls for Hire per booking requirements, including set ups/bump ins, operation, bump out and reset
  • Operation of production / audio visual equipment within the venues including, but not limited to, sound, lighting, live streaming and multimedia
  • Supervising, training and rostering casual and contracted technical staff
  • Meet client requirements for event plans, presentation and production services


The successful candidate will have

  • Drivers Licence (Class C)
  • Ability to work flexible hours over a 7-day availability (Monday – Sunday)
  • Extensive knowledge and experience in the production process including but not limited to planning, implementation and operation of live staging
  • Extensive knowledge and experience of other stage craft including sound, lighting, live streaming, multimedia and audio visual
  • Strong understanding of the needs and requirements of a range of stage presentations and events
  • Ability to read and execute detailed stage and lighting plans
  • Demonstrated experience in supervising, training and rostering casual and contracted technical staff
  • Sound knowledge of and commitment to safe working practices for events and equipment use and maintenance
  • Demonstrated competency in Microsoft Office Applications and venue booking software


Physical Requirements

While performing the duties of the job, the employee is regularly required to maintain a prolonged standing/walking posture throughout the shift. Sufficient mobility is required to enable the employee to negotiate stairs and ramps. The employee must be able to work at heights and be able to lift and move furniture.
