Targets with Digilin

Commissioned from renowned Minang/Wardandi/Bibbulmun artist Christopher Pease, “Targets” is 34 metres long, 5-metre-high artwork comprised of 56 individual perforated panels, now on permanent display on the Art Gallery of Western Australia’s (AGWA) rooftop. Described by AGWA as “one of the most significant commissions of a Noongar artist in Western Australian history…”, the piece forms a visible part of Perth’s skyline and is the centrepiece of its rooftop venue.

The printed panels are backlit by a series of DMX-controlled, IP65 RGBW linear systems, which Digilin precisely mapped, manufactured and mounted to the back of panels. The linear systems were encapsulated in Shield 65 protective coating to guarantee their performance in their exposed position. Digilin worked with Mr Pease and AGWA to articulate the artist’s vision into a custom-programmed, several-minute long, RGBW DMX sequence to dynamically bring that vision to life.

Congratulations to Mr Pease and The Art Gallery of Western Australia.
