Ryde Secondary College has recently undergone a significant upgrade to its school stage by installing a motorized lighting truss system. The school reached out to PHANTOS, a trusted provider of lighting and rigging solutions, to supply and install the new system.
The installation used a 12m total span of EGT294 Box Truss with an Energy Chain collection bin, operated by 2 Mode 611 Pro Chain motors and a 4-way Rackmount Controller, along with a wireless handheld pickle for easy control. The system’s flexibility allows for quick adjustments, ensuring that the lighting setup is always ready for different types of events.
The motorized truss system also saves valuable time and effort, as it can be quickly raised, lowered, or moved to different locations without the need for manual labour. This can reduce the risk of accidents that may occur while moving heavy lighting equipment.
In addition to the motorized lighting truss system, PHANTOS supplied DMX Data & Power Cable connections for lights on the existing lighting bars, providing a comprehensive solution for the school’s lighting needs.

Upon completion of the installation, a certificate of structural adequacy, approved by a structural engineer, was issued.
