Recently the company was again on the lookout to expand their lighting inventory with some new blinders and battens and came to Showtools International. As part of their acquisition, they acquired GLP JDC-1 and X4 Bar 20 tour packs.
“We were looking for some new blinders and battens, and GLP had the answer with the JDC-1 and impression X4 Bar 20,” stated Phillip Dearle from Jay Productions.
“When you look for a strobe, you look for power and the JDC1 from GLP delivers power in excess through a versatile and highly creative design. The JDC1 contains a traditional single tube element with an incredible clear, bright white output and combines that with a surrounding full face of RGB LED power,” explained Phillip.
“To give even more functionality, the RGB face can be divided into 12 separate ‘plate’ sections, and additionally the bright white tube also can be divided into 12 sections and then the whole array can be fully pixel mapped through any standard controller, providing excellent versatility. Combine that with its dynamic movement with a 16 bit, 185° tilt range, it provides everything we want in a strobe,” Phillip said.
Phillip went on to describe the X4 Bar 20, “The impression X4 Bar 20 is a high-performance batten that incorporates 15 Watt RGBW LEDs packed tightly to give a full line of light. The X4 Bar 20 uses 20 LEDs. High-quality optics ensure a smooth, homogenized output across the batten through a broad pallet of pastel and saturated colours, complimented by GLP’s exceptional dimming which ensures that there is no colour shift, just smooth even fades.”
Phillip concluded, “Both GLP fixtures are a much-needed addition to our growing inventory providing both the power and versatility for all our clients and events. With the fixtures also coming in durable and reliable road cases to suit, these fixtures will be vital additions for us.”
