Harry the Hirer Productions is seeking a capable and professional Audio Visual Technician to join our dedicated onsite production team at ILUMINA, one of Sydney’s premium corporate event venues.

About the Role
As an AV Technician, you will support the preparation and technical delivery of events from initial setup through to live operation and pack-down.
The role is hands-on and highly client-facing. You will need the technical confidence to operate professional AV systems, the communication skills to work directly with clients and venue teams, and the calm approach required to deliver polished events in a premium environment.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Setting up, testing, operating and packing down audio, video and lighting equipment
- Operating technical systems during conferences, presentations, dinners and corporate events
- Preparing event spaces and technical systems in accordance with event briefs and production schedules
- Working with venue managers, event coordinators and clients to understand their technical requirements
- Programming and configuring equipment for event requirements
- Conducting system checks and resolving technical issues during live events
- Inspecting equipment, reporting faults and assisting with routine maintenance
- Providing friendly, professional and solutions-focused service to clients and guests
- Supporting other Harry the Hirer Productions venues and events when required
About You
You are a dependable and technically capable AV professional who takes pride in delivering polished events and outstanding client service.
You will ideally bring:
- Previous hands-on experience in live events, corporate AV, venue production or a similar technical environment
- Working knowledge of professional audio, video, presentation and basic lighting systems
- Confidence setting up and operating AV equipment for small to medium-sized events
- The ability to diagnose and resolve common technical issues
- Experience working from event briefs, run sheets or production schedules
- Strong communication and customer-service skills
- A professional appearance and approach when working with clients and venue partners
- Good attention to detail and the ability to manage several priorities
- A collaborative attitude and willingness to support the wider production team
- Familiarity with Microsoft PowerPoint and common presentation software
- Availability to work a rotating event roster, including some evenings and weekends
Experience with corporate events, presentation switching, digital audio consoles, projection, LED displays, wireless microphones or lighting control will be highly regarded.
Formal AV or live-production qualifications are welcome but are not essential where you can demonstrate solid practical experience.
