ALIA Tour to OA’s Aida, Sydney {FULL}

The most epic opera of all time, Verdi’s mighty Aida returned to the Sydney Opera House this winter and features Opera Australia’s new integrated digital technologies, transporting the audience
experience to a whole new level and marking the first stage of this exciting new development in theatrical staging.

A ‘traditional’ set is replaced by 10 massive LED screens mounted on theatrical flats that slide across the stage and rotate to form different configurations. Lighting designer John Rayment had to ensure that the lighting responded to, and coexisted with, the LED content and the technology.

John and AO’s Clif Bothwell have kindly agreed to conduct a tour of this lighting rig and John will no doubt tell you just how he integrated his lighting with this new technology.

The rig includes Martin Mac Encore Performance WRM, Ayrton S25 Wildsuns, Claypaky K-Eye K20 HCR and ETC for control.

When: Wednesday August 29th
Time: 3.45pm
Where: Sydney Opera House
