Waves Audio has announced ILLUGEN 2.0, the next evolution of its sample creation app that enables users to turn text prompts into original musical audio samples that offers an upgraded sound engine, enhanced prompt accuracy, and expanded creative controls.
ILLUGEN 2.0 now offers two selectable sound-generation engines directly within the app: the new “Studio Engine” trained to deliver high-fidelity and musically realistic production-ready loops and samples for professional music creation, and the original “Creative Engine” designed for sonic exploration. This dual-engine approach gives users the freedom to choose between polished studio-grade output and raw sound design material within the same workflow.
Responding to customer feedback, Waves has also incorporated three new features that represent the additions most frequently requested by users since ILLUGEN’s launch:
— Lock to Key: the ability to set and lock the musical key.
— Loop Length Control: the ability to define loop length, shorter or longer loops that fit the given track.
— Stereo Control: the ability to control stereo width, from tight mono to wide stereo.
Since its launch, ILLUGEN fosters transforming creative ideas into unique one-shots, loops and SFX, ready for musical creation. Prompts can range from “Tight funk ’70s drums at 90 BPM” and “Melancholic toy piano melody for a trap beat in A minor” to “Haunted house violin in C#” or “Underwater synth swirls played by aliens.”
