Venue Technician

As a Venue Technician, you will provide hands on support for the technical and production needs of shows, functions and events at the Dubbo Regional Theatre and Convention Centre. You have experience in audio, lighting, vision and staging equipment, as well as excellent Customer Service and interpersonal skills.

Due to the nature of the role you will be required to work a 76 hour fortnight, with a roster including weekends, based on the events schedule.

You’ll make an impact by:

  • Interpreting technical requirements, scheduling information and resources for incoming productions
  • Facilitating the setup and operation of audio, vision, lighting and staging equipment for shows, functions and events
  • Working with clients to realise the requirements of their events within the capabilities of the venues
  • Ensuring infrastructure and equipment are maintained, repaired or replaced to achieve a safe and efficient working environment


WHAT YOU’LL BRING

You are a skilled and motivated individual, with a diverse range of industry experience in entertainment, events or touring shows. You thrive working in a busy and fast paced environment.

You have a strong work ethic, can take instruction and pride yourself on integrity within the workplace. Additionally, you have excellent communication skills and are a team player who continually looks for positive ways to contribute to team culture.

To thrive in this role, you will need:

  • Experience and knowledge in the operation of audio, lighting, vision and staging equipment and systems in theatres and convention centres
  • Experience supervising and training a range of casual staff and volunteers
  • Experience and knowledge of WHS, Risk Management, emergency evacuation procedures related to the operations of a public function area / live theatre venue
  • Availability to work flexible hours including weekends and evenings

Attractive annual salary ranging from $55,871 to $64,930 is on offer.
