The purpose of this position is to assist the Head Technical Operator – Lighting, with lighting technical requirements for touring shows, productions and events – this includes follow spot, floor electrician, moving lights and general lighting technical duties.
This role will be responsible for manual handling and lifting of lighting equipment during the bump in and bump out of shows as well as in show mode
- Involvement with the maintenance of Theatre lighting systems and environment as directed by Head of Lighting
- Contribute to lighting technical planning process to ensure venue is maintained and developed to meet artistic and business needs; operate venue lighting technical systems where appropriate to ensure the safe and efficient delivery of service.
- Act in key roles under the direction of the Head of Lighting for touring shows, productions and events. Cover absenteeism, short notice and annual leave.
- Work with external and internal stakeholders, suppliers, and production companies as appropriate to ensure the lighting technical aspects of all Theatre events are delivered on time and within budgets.
- Assisting with bump in and bump out of shows, act in key lighting roles during show mode as required.
- Ensure all required staff, contractors and visitors have been inducted to venue with relevant training, comply with health and safety regulations, policies and procedures whilst on site. Ensure own training and certification is up to date and valid.
- Manual handling and moving of lighting and show equipment as directed by the Head of Lighting
