Service Technician (with electrical background)

The Pacific Hoists Group is a privately owned, Australian family business based in Seven Hills, NSW. From our roots, the Pacific Hoists Team have built a company based on honesty, integrity, and a commitment to quality. We are recognised for our industry leading products, services, and commitment to our customers. As our business is growing, we are currently looking for a Service Technician to join our busy workshop team.  The successful candidate will have a background working in either the crane, industrial lifting or electrical industry and be willing to learn new skills. 

About the role:

  • Strip and assess electric and pneumatic lifting equipment for repair and testing 
  • Prepare diagnostic/service reports through our service management system 
  • Pre-delivery assembly and customisation of electric and pneumatic lifting equipment 
  • Performing troubleshooting and fault-finding of electrical hoist and control systems.
  • Perform diagnostic tests to ensure all equipment is in safe working condition.
  • Technical assembly on customised jobs for customers.
  • Maintain accurate records of work performed.
  • Provide excellent customer service and support to all internal teams
  • Maintain high levels of quality and safety with all tasks.
  • Working with the service and warehouse team to ensure daily workload is completed 
  • Participate in continual development through further training and educational opportunities 
  • Assisting the warehouse team with overflow work if required 


What we are looking for:

  • A minimum of 3 years’ prior experience working within the crane, industrial lifting equipment or electrical industries.
  • Experience with electrical installations, commissioning and troubleshooting.
  • Willingness to learn and adapt to new technologies.
  • Australian recognised electrical qualification
  • A safety-first mindset is a must have.
  • An LF forklift licence and at least 2 years’ experience 
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills. 
  • Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to diagnose and resolve technical issues. 
  • A can-do attitude with a desire to learn.
  • A strong team player who gets in and gets things done, working with the team towards a common goal.
  • Good computer skills with proficiency in Microsoft office and tablet use.
