Powersoft To Debut PRIMA Series Compact Amplifiers

Powersoft will debut the PRIMA Series, a compact professional amplifier range designed for installed audio systems where DSP, routing and control are already managed upstream, at the upcoming 2026 InfoComm Show at the Las Vegas Convention Centre at booth N6653.

Available in two 4-channel models, including PRIMA 164 and PRIMA 324, the series is engineered for small-to-medium applications requiring straightforward low-to-mid-power amplification. The PRIMA Series delivers up to 320 watts of amplification in a half-rack form factor suited for space-constrained environments.

The amplifiers support both Hi-Z and Lo-Z configurations with independently configurable output channels, allowing integrators to adapt the system to a range of loudspeaker layouts and commercial audio requirements. PRIMA also incorporates Powersoft’s power-sharing technology, enabling available power to be distributed efficiently across channels based on application needs.

“The PRIMA Series was developed to provide a practical amplification solution for projects where signal processing is already handled elsewhere in the system,” says Mitch Rauch, US sales director for Powersoft. “Many installed audio applications do not require additional amplifier-side DSP, so PRIMA focuses on delivering reliable amplification, installation flexibility and straightforward setup in a compact format. The PRIMA Series allows integrators and installers to maintain a clean system architecture while still benefiting from Powersoft sound quality and proven reliability. We are looking forward to introducing PRIMA to the professional AV market at InfoComm 2026.”

To simplify deployment and commissioning, PRIMA includes onboard Auto Setup technology that automatically detects connected loads and optimises amplifier operating parameters accordingly. The series also offers onboard gain trimmers, front-panel status LEDs, Eco Mode and Auto Standby functions that support efficient operation and simplified local control without requiring additional software layers. Remote standby functionality via GPI further expands integration options for applications requiring centralised control and power management.

PRIMA may be integrated alongside Powersoft DSP-enabled platforms, including Mezzo and Unica, in applications requiring additional amplification capacity or expanded audio coverage. In these environments, PRIMA functions as a complementary amplification stage while external DSP and routing remain managed upstream, helping maintain system consistency without redesigning the existing architecture. The series can also operate as a standalone amplifier platform in analogue audio systems where internal loudspeaker processing or external AV processors already provide the necessary system management.
