AUDIX has announced the availability of two specialized wireless vocal capsules: the NCEC Extended Cardioid and the NCTH Tight Hypercardioid capsules, both engineered with wide-spread industry-leading thread design compatibility for drop-in upgrades to handheld transmitters from several brands in the category while also serving as the native voice of the company’s Novacore digital wireless ecosystem.
Both the NCEC and NCTH models utilise proprietary VLM (Very Low Mass) technology designed to deliver a natural, articulate sound with a strong transient response. This precision voicing reduces the need for corrective EQ, allowing for faster, more mix-ready vocals. Further, internal vibration isolation helps ensure low handling noise, keeping vocals cleaner during active, high-energy performances.
The NCEC Extended Cardioid capsule is designed to capture a natural sound with a forgiving pickup pattern, making it suited for general lead vocals, worship settings, and cases where the performer may not have refined mic-technique. The NCTH Tight Hypercardioid capsule is built to provide more precision and acoustic isolation in high-SPL stage environments due to its off-axis rejection and feedback control.
The Novacore wireless platform delivers 24-bit digital audio with stated latency of under 3 ms and a frequency response of 20 Hz–20 kHz. It has a 48 MHz wideband tuning range and AES-256 encryption to meet modern institutional standards for secure speech and performance. For networked installations, the dual- and quad-channel receivers include Dante integration, allowing routing of wireless channels directly into AoIP infrastructures.
