Luminex Debuts New GigaCore O26-I Ethernet Switch

Luminex GigaCore O26-I is a 40-Gigabit Ethernet switch for AV integration, installation, broadcast applications, and touring applications.

“With the GigaCore O26-I, we are responding to what our customers have been asking for,” says Bart Swinnen, CEO of Luminex Network Intelligence. “The demand for a high-bandwidth, protocol-ready switch that is easy to configure and manage has been clear for some time. We are proud to deliver a solution that not only meets these expectations but does so with the reliability and user-friendliness that define Luminex.”

The new switch is outfitted with 20 independent SFP+ ports (10 Gbps), four SFP28 ports (25 Gbps), and two QSFP ports (40 Gbps). Configuration is designed to be efficient. Each GigaCore can be managed through the built-in AV Web UI, while system-wide configuration and monitoring are streamlined with Araneo, Luminex’s network management, planning, and monitoring software.

The GigaCore O26-I comes with pre-defined QoS/DiffServ settings, optimized IGMP per VLAN group, and editable VLAN groups. It supports AV protocols that includes RAVENNA/AES67, Milan AVB, ST2110, IPMX, Dante, and others. In addition, the automated redundancy protocol RLinkX is designed to help ensure seamless operation of redundant links and ring topologies.

The GigaCore O26-I includes two built-in power supplies in a single 1U rack unit, eliminating the need for external redundancy solutions. PTPv2 Boundary clock support is designed to foster precise time synchronization, while Luminex’s per-port RGB LEDs provides clear visual identification of VLAN groups at a glance.
