Brisbane Sound Group is a leading Brisbane-based AV and live event production company, celebrating 40 years in the industry. We supply premium brands across sound, video, lighting, and staging for events across South East Queensland. We’re looking for a Front Hire Desk team member to be the first point of contact for our dry hire customers.
About the role
You’ll manage the day-to-day running of our hire counter — checking gear in and out, advising customers on the right equipment for their needs, and keeping our hire operations running smoothly. This is a hands-on role that combines customer service with genuine technical know-how.
Hours
Monday to Friday to start, transitioning to an ongoing roster of Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday, and a half-day Saturday once settled in.
What you’ll be doing
- Serving walk-in and phone customers at the hire counter
- Advising customers on equipment selection based on their event or application
- Processing hire bookings, check-in/check-out, and equipment condition checks
- Troubleshooting basic equipment issues and escalating where needed
- Keeping hire stock organised, tested, and ready to go
- Working with the wider team to support bookings and stock availability
What we’re looking for
- Some experience in AV, live events, or equipment hire (dry hire counter experience highly regarded)
- Working knowledge of audio, lighting, staging, or event production equipment
- Strong organisational skills, with the ability to plan ahead and stay on top of bookings and stock
- Strong customer service skills and a can-do attitude
- Comfortable with physical work — lifting, loading, and moving gear
- Good communication and problem-solving skills
- A current driver’s licence
