About the role
We are seeking an experienced Electronics Service Technician to join our Technical Services team in Melbourne. Working from our workshop, you will diagnose, repair, test, and maintain professional lighting including moving lights, LED fixtures, and lighting control systems. This is a hands-on role suited to a technician who enjoys fault finding, electronics repair, and working with industry-leading lighting technology used in entertainment, events, theatre, television, and architectural applications.
Key responsibilities
- Diagnose and repair professional lighting equipment and control systems.
- Manage spare parts inventory and assist with stocktakes.
- Troubleshoot moving lights, LED fixtures, power supplies, motors, sensors, and control electronics.
- Maintain accurate service records and repair documentation.
- Prepare repair quotations and source replacement parts.
- Provide technical support and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.
- Perform component-level PCB repairs and electronic fault finding.
About you
- 3-5 years’ experience in electronics repair or technical service.
- Strong fault-finding of robotic and electronic lighting fixtures.
- Ability to read schematics and technical documentation.
- Full Australian working rights.
- Experience servicing entertainment lighting equipment including moving lights, LED fixtures, and lighting control systems.
- Experience with motors, sensors, power systems, and control electronics.
- Experience managing spare parts and service documentation.
- Understanding of DMX, RDM, Art-Net, and sACN protocols.
- Trade qualification, Certificate, Diploma, or Degree in Electronics, Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, or a related field.
