How You’ll Make an Impact
The Knox AV and Events Technicians play a vital role in supporting the vibrant and active community at Knox Grammar School. As members of Knox’s IT Service Team, Events’ Technicians play a crucial role in the success of supporting and delivering over 200 events each year. They expertly handle audio recordings, video streaming, sound, lighting, and presentation technologies. They ensure every event runs smoothly providing a high impact experience for pupils, staff and guests. Working in a capable team, the Events Technicians are responsible for delivering event and technical services throughout the three campuses, providing exceptional service to internal and external guests.
Your Role Will Involve
• Set up, operate, and pack down AV equipment for school events including assemblies, concerts, drama productions, graduation ceremonies, and community events
• Operate front-of-house audio consoles for live events
• Manage and operate stage rigs including LED systems under the direction of the production team
• Operate video projection, LED display systems, and confidence monitors for presentations, ceremonies, and performances
• Provide IMAG (image magnification) vision switching and camera operation for large-format events across various venues
• Assist with staging and equipment logistics in preparation for large-scale productions
What You’ll Bring
• Demonstrated experience in a live events, theatre, or AV production environment
• Proficiency with professional audio console operation (Yamaha, Allen & Heath, DiGiCo, or similar)
• Practical knowledge of signal flow, patching, and audio troubleshooting in live settings
• Experience with video projection systems, display technology, and basic vision switching
• Ability to work confidently at height (elevated staging, rigging, ladder and elevated work platform use – relevant tickets preferred)
• Strong communication skills and the ability to work calmly under pressure in time-sensitive event environments
• Experience with Q-SYS platform (Core processors, UCI control, Q-SYS Designer) is highly regarded
• Familiarity with Dante or AES67 networked audio environments is highly regarded
