US WeMakeEvents livestreams tomorrow

Facebook and YouTube Live Streams for the US WeMakeEvents RedAlertRESTART are scheduled for  9pm-1am Eastern time (Wednesday 11am Sydney-time). As many as 1,500 buildings, iconic structures, and residences will light up in red on the evening of Tuesday, September 1, from 9pm-12am, local time, as the event rolls across the country.

This call to action was created by We Make Events North America, a coalition of live events professionals formed to urge Congress to pass the RESTART Act to help small businesses, and to extend and expand PUA for 1099 workers, and extend the $600 FPUC benefits for displaced workers.

As the buildings light up across the country, the thousands of people following this event on social media—4,000 followers and 625,000 people reached— are invited to watch RED ALERT LIVE, which will stream live from 9pm-1am Eastern time on Facebook at https://www.facebook.com/WeMakeEventsNorthAmerica; and on YouTube at https://bit.ly/2YLqhre.

RED ALERT LIVE will not only show the buildings lit in red in over 60 cities coast-to-coast, but also include video footage, live interviews with regional directors and their special guests. The stream will begin in New York City and conclude in Los Angeles, two epicentres of live events that have been crippled by the COVID-19 pandemic.

Support for this project has been incredible, considering the national committee was formed on August 12, 2020, the day after the inaugural #WeMakeEvents activation took place in the UK.
