Technical Officer

The Technical Officer attends to all aspects of technical production in relation to performances and events at the Queens Park Theatre and other City-owned venues. This position works evenings and weekends as required and supports the Queens Park Theatre Team in all aspects of the Theatre’s technical operations.

Key accountabilities:

  • Effectively manage the set up and operation of various pieces of lighting, audio and AV equipment.
  • Ensure lighting, audio and staging equipment is operated in the correct and safe manner during performances according to technical requirements as well as in accordance with in-house City of Greater Geraldton Workplace Health and Safety Policies and Procedures.
  • Ensure all event production aspects are coordinated in a professional manner with a customer-service focus.

Position requirements:

  • Previous experience with professional performing arts/events technical operations, including experience operating lighting, audio and visual systems and consoles
  • Previous experience with stage management
  • Sound skills in the safe handling and assembly of sets and staging, unloading and loading of trucks

Completion of a pre-employment medical including alcohol and other substances testing is required of all positions at the City.

Remuneration and benefits:

The Technical Officer position has a salary starting from $76,072 per annum or $38.4981 per hour, offered dependent on knowledge, skills, experience and qualifications.
