Sonance Professional has announced global availability of the complete Professional Series High Output Loudspeaker family, with a compression driver-based line that expands the Professional Series into a broader range of more demanding applications that include convention centres, ballrooms, houses of worship, fitness facilities, sports bars, hospitality venues, retail environments, and other spaces with high ceilings and/or challenging acoustics.
The family includes pendant, surface mount, blind mount in-ceiling, and two-piece in-ceiling models. Every loudspeaker combines an 8-inch woofer with a coaxially mounted 1.4-inch compression driver, and with stated low-frequency extension to 41 Hz, some applications can be completed without additional subwoofers, simplifying system design and installation.
A unique aspect of the Professional Series High Output family is Variable Dispersion Technology, which allows designers and installers to select between 120-degree and 80-degree dispersion patterns, allowing the optimizing of coverage for both low- and high-ceiling applications.
The technology is delivered through a magnetically interchangeable horn and collar assembly that ships in-box with every model and can be reconfigured in the field without any special tools. A two-position switch optimizes the crossover for whichever dispersion configuration is selected, ensuring consistent sonic performance in either mode.
Skylar Gray, director of Engineering at Sonance, says, “The sonic fidelity we’ve achieved in the new High Output family, along with its flexible form factors and configurable wide or narrow dispersion, represents a transformative advancement in the category.”
“We’re incredibly excited about this new High Output family, which brings a new level of performance and flexibility to our Professional Series,” adds Mike Sonntag, chief revenue officer, Sonance Commercial. “Combined with recent introduction of PowerZone Connect PRO amplifiers, integrators now have a complete Sonance solution for demanding commercial audio systems.”
Every model shares the same acoustic voicing, allowing designers to mix pendant, surface mount, and in-ceiling loudspeakers throughout a project while maintaining a consistent listening experience. The surface mount model further extends deployment into covered outdoor environments with an IPX4 rating.
The two-piece in-ceiling model supports rough-in during early construction, allowing the backcan to be installed well before finish work. Across the family, integrated 70/100-volt transformers with up to 120-watt taps, 8-ohm bypass capability, UL1480A compliance, and UL2043 certification on in-ceiling models are designed to simplify specification across a range of commercial projects.
