The Role

Join our Dynamic Team as Senior Theatre Technical Supervisor!

Are you passionate about the allure of live performance and the art of technical production? Your search ends here, the Town of Port Hedland is on the lookout for an experienced and energetic Senior Theatre Technical Officer to coordinate, manage, and execute the technical operations for the Town.

Reporting to the Manager of Events, Arts and Culture, you will be at the forefront of the Town’s cinema, community events and theatre performances. We’re seeking a leader who is well-versed in technical planning and preparation with strong focus on safety, customer experience, and contract/stakeholder management. Your responsibilities will include, but not limited to:

  • Lead, supervise and train employees within the Events, Arts and Culture Team operating at the Matt Dann Theatre, ensuring a high quality technical service for our community.
  • Oversee all technical aspects of the Matt Dann Theatre events, from planning to execution, including AV production, digital cinema, stage set-up, and rigging.
  • Manage contract suppliers, collaborating with artists, production teams, and equipment providers.
  • Ensure operational excellence by adhering to safety standards in all technical operations.

Work Related Requirements

The preferred applicant will be required to undergo a pre-employment medical, including drug and alcohol assessment to be considered for the role, as well as possess:

  • Provide First Aid Certificate
  • Working with Children Check
  • Current ‘C’ class drivers licence
  • National Police Clearance
  • Rights to work in Australia
