A one-night-only collaboration saw Hoodoo Gurus join forces with the Melbourne Symphony Orchestra at the Sidney Myer Music Bowl. The performance merged orchestral classics with iconic rock, brought to life through dynamic lighting by ResX.
Delivering the lighting system for the event, ResX brought an impressive rig featuring Martin MAC Viper XIP, Martin MAC Aura XIP, Ayrton Perseo and Claypaky B-Eye K20 fixtures, all built on MA Lighting hardware via Luminex switches.
For this performance, lighting designer Anthony Barrett (Bazz) operated from his own Chamsys console, seamlessly integrated into the ResX MA-based system, demonstrating flexibility, collaboration and rock-solid interoperability.
The Hoodoo Gurus performance marked the first in a run of four shows delivered by ResX across the month. With the system left in place, the team executed efficient changeovers for MSO Symphony in Concert, MSO at the Bowl and Ludovico Einaudi, showcasing ResX’s capability to support complex, multi-show productions at scale.
A special shout-out to systems supervisors Sam Kent and Brendan Malone, and the entire ResX crew, for a standout run of shows.
