Audix Novacore Platform Expands with Dual- and Quad-Channel Receivers

Audix, the celebrated designer and manufacturer of premium professional microphones for stage, studio, and broadcast use, today announces the immediate availability and shipping of the Novacore dual-channel (NCR2) and quad-channel (NCR4) digital wireless receivers. First previewed at Winter NAMM 2026, these multi-channel receivers complete the commercial rollout of the innovative 16-product Novacore digital wireless ecosystem.

Designed as a scalable, unified foundation for all Audix digital wireless needs, Novacore now scales effortlessly from portable single-channel setups to complex, high-density, multi-channel installations.

Offering an uncompromising balance of professional reliability and premium sound quality, the complete Novacore system provides an accessible, competitively priced entry point into a full-scale professional wireless ecosystem.

The Novacore platform naturally translates vocal and instrument performances of the trusted Audix stage sound into the digital wireless segment. The system delivers high-fidelity sound with a flat frequency response (20 Hz–20 kHz), an ultra-low system latency of under 3 ms, and a wide dynamic range of > 110 dBA. To satisfy modern security expectations in legislative, judicial, and corporate environments, Novacore features robust AES-256 digital transmission encryption.

Multi-Channel Anchors

The Dante- & AES67-ready NCR2 (two-channel) and NCR4 (four-channel) receivers act as the high-channel-count anchors of the Novacore system. Both models feature built-in Dante and AES67 networked digital audio outputs alongside balanced analog XLR outputs, giving audio professionals direct connection into networked audio systems for faster deployment.

Practical, User-Friendly Systems

Built into rugged 1RU rack-ready housings, the NCR2 and NCR4 black steel chassis are built for long-term reliability in demanding environments. Every critical parameter is visible at a glance via clear front-panel LCD screens, providing high-visibility metering for group/channel/frequency info, RF and Audio levels, antenna status, transmitter battery life, and additional transmitter settings. To simplify setups, receivers feature on-board frequency scanning and quick, one-touch infrared synchronisation with handheld or bodypack transmitters.

Novacore introduces two major hardware enhancements, which include:

Direct Channel Monitoring: A dedicated front-panel headphone jack with a physical channel selector switch and volume control enables engineers to quickly monitor individual wireless channels directly from the receiver.

Daisy-Chain Software Control

The free Audix Frequency Coordinator software for PC and Mac provides spectrum scanning and system monitoring. Multiple receivers connect directly via dual rear-mounted RJ11 ports accessed via the Audix NCPC USB Adapter (available separately). This allows engineers to daisy-chain the entire system together without needing to purchase or configure separate network switches, ideal for higher channel count coordination.

Versatile Transmitters

Rugged metal handheld (NCHH, NCHHEC, NCHHTH) and bodypack (NCBP) transmitters deliver up to 16+ hours of operation with rechargeable lithium-ion batteries or standard AA support. Bodypack systems are available with an assortment of Audix lavalier and headset microphones. Additionally, a variety of MicroBoom kits are available for capturing choir and ensemble applications for fast, wireless deployment.

Specialized Vocal Capsules

Performance starts at the capsule with the NCEC Extended Cardioid and NCTH Tight Hypercardioid dynamic microphone capsules. Embodying proprietary VLM (Very Low Mass) technology for high transient response, low handling noise, and exceptional feedback control, these capsules feature a common industry thread, offering an immediate sonic upgrade for many industry leading handheld transmitters including Shure wireless microphone systems.

“We built Novacore to cut through the noise of modern digital wireless,” says Eric Reese, Audix Vice President. “With our dual- and quad-channel receivers now shipping, the complete 16-product ecosystem is fully market-ready. We are giving live sound professionals, houses of worship, and commercial integrators exactly what they have been asking for: secure, digital RF performance, seamless Dante networking, and the legendary clarity of Audix microphones—packaged in a system they can trust to hear what matters.”
