Ray Vickery, owner of Lighting Lab in Melbourne for the past 43 years, passed away last Wednesday after a long battle with prostate cancer.
“Ray was one of the unsung heroes of our industry. He had a real passion for us and it was more about helping than making money. From the micro cans to making LED screens an accessible option for productions far and wide. I rehearsed in Lab’s band rooms and hired stuff from him. But above all else, he was a bloody great bloke who I was proud to call a friend.”
