ResX Supply Jet’s ‘Get Born’ Twenty-Year Anniversary Tour Lighting Design

The iconic, 8 x Platinum Certified band has reunited for an Aussie tour celebrating their 20th anniversary. Jet called on one of Australia’s best, Kait Hall, to manage lighting and stage design.

Kait devised a pyramid design that is both punchy and responsive to dynamic shifts in the bands’ discography. The kit capitalises off two next-level newcomers to the ResX range – the ShowPRO DiamondBack bar and the Claypaky Sharpy X-Frame.

At the heart of Kait’s design is the DiamondBack. More than just a tilting/zooming LED Bar, it features 14 individually controllable LEDs, plus 2 lines of cool to warm white strobe pixels that can be divided into 56 individually controllable sections.

Kait also leans on the ultra-versatile hybrid beam of the Sharpy X-Frame. “When considering the truck space, time constraints and budget I needed something that could be really versatile”, says Kait. “A striking beam, punchy spot looks and great zoom range meant this was the perfect fixture to fill a lot of space with minimal fixtures”. The X-Frame incorporates the best of the original Sharpy fixtures and ups the ante with a 3-52 degree zoom range and a whole new array of visual effects.

The full set-up achieves a classic rock ‘n’ roll feel without compromising on flexibility. Kait has programmed the set masterfully to reflect each performance, from moody ballads to bold rock hits.

ResX worked with Kait to ensure these exciting new additions to our range would reflect her vision for Jet, with the shows receiving great feedback after a sold-out opening concert at The Forum, Melbourne.

“The Res X crew always provides incredible service; they go the extra mile to ensure my shows run smoothly”, Kait said.

“The design definitely had its challenges to ensure it could tour easily.  I have a long-standing relationship with the staff at Res X and am always impressed with their ability to custom-fabricate anything that is not available off the shelf.  As a designer, it really helps to have the technical support to make any concept a reality”.

The tour rolls on to Brisbane and Sydney this weekend! Jet is playing the full ‘Get Born’ album, including hits ‘Are You Gonna Be My Girl’ and ‘Rollover D.J’.
