Hayden James at The Hordern

After returning home from his largest North American and European tour to date, Hayden bought his ‘Lifted’ tour to AUS and NZ, for his biggest headline domestic run of shows yet.

“The design was originally created for the US tour and after its debut in cities around the US, Hayden decided to bring the same design to Australia in its full form,” commented lighting designer David Fairless of @colourblind.

David says that it’s the first time he has designed a more generic rig and he leant on the programming to be the powerful impact of the show.

“It was exciting to have so many options available throughout the set, balancing between a strong overhead and floor rig, a 12m x 2m upstage video wall and 48 horizontal Martin Sceptron randomly placed throughout the rig at various heights.”

Being able to lead content creation for the Sceptron, video wall and program the lighting, David was able to achieve some really special moments that gave each element of the set room to breathe which increased the draw of the audience into the design.

The rig, supplied by ei Productions, featured Martin Sceptron, MAC Viper Profile, Claypaky Sharpy and K20 plus GLP JDC-1 all running from an MA Lighting grandMA3 full-size console. They also supplied 48 x panels of VuePix LED Screen, DJ gear and a riser package.
