ENTECH to Celebrate 50 years of Jands

In October ENTECH ROADSHOW returns to the East Coast after a two-year holiday with a tribute to Jands who recently celebrated their 50th anniversary.

“Jands were my first advertiser in Connections Magazine and my first exhibitor signup when Caroline and I launched ENTECH in 1993,” says ENTECH co-founder Julius Grafton. “They started before me, and I’m about to hit 50 years in the sound and lighting business as well. So it is fitting to celebrate with them at ENTECH this year”.

The changing times have seen ENTECH evolve from a big box multi-day tradeshow into a roadshow that grows every year and has spawned a companion event called SECTECH for the security technology industry. ENTECH first hit the road ten years ago with 12 exhibitors and now counts around 40 firms showing the latest new tech to trade buyers. Tyre kickers and time wasters are banned.

Normally covering the five main cities, this year the roadshow is trimmed down to help the battered pro audio and lighting distribution industry with Sydney, Melbourne and Brisbane the focus. The timetable has changed from March to October, which was the original month for ENTECH at the start, as March is often very busy with live festivals and events.

Signups for ENTECH are over 70% of capacity for 2022, and the new ENTECH Theatre returns with non-stop educational and product featured sessions run through wireless headsets on the show floor. The ENTECH Café returns larger than ever, with wellbeing a major focus for CrewCare and Support Act.

Recruitment is another branch at ENTECH where production firms and venues solicit staff and crew from dedicated recruitment tables or informally in the Café.

After this year ENTECH returns to Perth and Adelaide and ENTECH NZ resumes in 2024.
