Mooloolaba’s Helm Nightclub has had a lighting over haul thanks to BJ’s Light & Sound including the installation of Wireless DMX to all truss locations, Pro Shop Truss Mates, Pro Shop Molefay Duets, Pro Shop LED Strips and Global Truss.
The lighting is installed similar to a production style stage look, rather than a traditional nightclub install, as the venue often hosts live acts and DJ’s. There is a truss arch at the back with two upright trusses at the front.
The six Pro Shop LED Bars help frame the stage whilst a pair of Pro Shop Molefay Duets are rigged on the back truss.
The most impressive technical upgrade was the installation of Wireless DMX as previously there had been four different pieces of truss in the venue to which cable had to be run.
“The Wireless DMX is great as the client likes to move the truss around a bit,” commented Sybren Van Der Meulen, Manager Hire & Sales at BJ’s. “With the Wireless DMX all I have to do is plug in the power and they can put the truss anywhere they want. It just gives you so much more versatility.”
