Wharfedale Pro has announced the release of an update to its MP Series amplifier range, with the upgraded MKII models building on their predecessors while offering increased power output, improved damping factor and added longevity via optimized component selection and refining the chassis design.
“Our MP Series analogue amps have been used and abused by customers around the world for decades,” says Peter Peck, marketing manager at Wharfedale Pro. “Often found in the most extreme working environments, MP series have earned their reputation as a real ‘tank’ of amplification, but updated component and technological advances now allow us to make some practical improvements.”
The new MP series is suited for fixed installations and is available in two models: the MP 1800 MKII, and MP2800 MKII. Both employ Class H topology designed to provide efficient power delivery. Connectivity is achieved via two XLR and two 6.3 mm jack inputs along with three speakON compatible outputs. Both models are stable down to 2 ohms and also have advanced protection features.
Peck continues, “The original hardware design of MP always proved popular with users, so with the new MKII models we have ensured the familiar hard-working look and feel remains the same, with the benefit of updated technologies within.
“The release of the new MP MKII series is a testament to our commitment to our existing customers who continue to trust in our brand to provide reliable, high-performance products that serve their long-term needs.”
