Waves Audio introduces an expanded line of stage boxes designed to work seamlessly with the eMotion LV1 Software mixer. Following the success of the previously released IONIC 16, the IONIC 24, a 24 mic/line in / 18 out, SoundGrid stagebox, is now available for pre-order.
Powered by Waves Signature Preamps, the IONIC 24 stagebox is billed as delivering superior sound quality with exceptional punch and clarity in any live sound scenario and complements the sonic performance of the Waves eMotion LV1 Live mixer. At the heart of IONIC 24’s sound and performance are Waves Signature Preamps — an original ground-up design with fully discrete high-end analog circuits, delivering maximum headroom, lightning-fast transient response, and a low noise floor. Able to handle any source with practically no restraints, the preamps feature a gain structure meticulously crafted to deliver a wide dynamic range and transients that do not clip, the company says.
Waves Signature Preamps’ HMX harmonic enhancement feature allows users to choose between timeless analog warmth and a more neutral sound. The HMX harmonic enhancer delivers a rich, full-bodied sound usually found only in high-end mixing consoles, without compromising any punch or clarity. This feature can be turned on or off per input, with “off” providing a more neutral sound.
The IONIC 24 delivers crystal-clear outputs with extra headroom, the company says. Whether users are powering stage wedges that compete with the drummer, a full rack of in-ear transmitters, or a PA system of any size or quality, IONIC’s eighteen powerful outputs and two independent headphone-outs deliver clear results with plenty of headroom.
IONIC 24 also enables users to get more out of their stage mics: its preamp section’s analog impedance selector allows users to choose the mic reaction you want. Users can choose between a classic 2k ohm and a modern 7k ohm, for greater sonic flexibility.
IONIC 24 provides seamless integration and connectivity to any eMotion LV1 system, the company says, ensuring quick and easy setup without wasting time on manual configurations. IONIC’s control panel is available in the LV1’s device rack, letting users control various parameters in your preamps and outputs directly from the mixer, without missing a beat.
