Cliftons Perth, the official lighting supplier for Commonwealth Heads of Government Meeting (CHOGM) in Perth, specified and supplied VuePix screens for international Media Centre, located at Perth Exhibition and Convention Centre during the period of the CHOGM 2011.
Sixteen high-resolution VuePix 5mm L Series displays were positioned in the middle of the Media Centre to stream live News from all around the world from different TV Channels.
Cliftons Perth Managing Director Ed Matthews explains: “We elected to use VuePix LED screens for Media Centre as the LEDs are much brighter than LCD or Plasma Screens. They also have much richer colors. Considering that live TV broadcasting need the high level of white light flooding, we found the VuePix LED screens the best solution for Media Centre environment.”
All 16 displays, each consisting of two VuePix L5 640x720mm lightweight panels, were suspended from truss from the ceiling grid. They were spaced 850mm apart. The video signal was delivered from set top boxes and processed and distributed simply over cat5 cable to each pair of displays.
“We were very happy with the quality of the picture the screens delivered in this challenging environment. Considering each screen comprised of only two panels each, they performed better that I had imagined they would”, comments Matthews.
The VuePix L Series panels comprise of an innovative lightweight design, which makes them around 30% lighter than competitive products. Thanks to the fully modular system the screens can be installed and serviced by hand with no tools required. Specially designed mask offers a high contrast rate and great visual performance.
Cliftons Perth has the largest inventory of VuePix screens in Western Australia and uses them for many of their productions, from stage shows to corporate events and exhibition applications.
