Technical Direction Company (TDC), Australia’s leading rental supplier of video technology has recently invested in a large amount of VuePix C14 screens and have used them for the 2011 ARIA AWARDS on Sunday, November 27th at Allphones Arena, Sydney.
TDC have been providing video equipment for the ARIAS for over 12 years. This year they were approached directly by the ARIAs to provide video equipment for 25th Anniversary of this high profile event in the Australian Music Calendar.
Michael Hassett, managing director of TDC, comments: “The end of this year was very busy for us, we were involved in many high profile shows and events. When the discussions about ARIAs came in July, it was an opportunity for us to gear up more screens. Having worked with VuePix for a number of years, it was our first choice to look at. The design of the C14 appeared to be a step above a lot out there and a value for money and quality was a good balance for a market looking for good value without compromising quality. So we decided to invest in VuePix and provide the significant visual solutions with VuePix C14 screens.”

All the VuePix screens 432 in total – were hung up from the ceiling, making the stage look spectacular. The content for the screens was specially created by Rod Morris from Interactive Originals and fed from Isadora content system through a Spyder X20 multiformat scaler/switcher.
The 2011 ARIA Awards were broadcasted on GO! at 7.30pm on Sunday, 27 November and for the first time streamed on any 3G mobiles.
The event kicked off with a “hair raising” performance by West Australian Mc, Drapth and included stunning performances by best Australian artists such as Guy Sebastian, Boy & Bear, Gotye and Kimbra, Art vs Science, as well as a surprise appearance by Delta Goodrem who performed a moving tribute to those artists who have passed away over the ARIA AWARDS’ 25 year history.
It was a special night for ARIA Hallo of Fame recipients, Kylie Minogue and The Wiggles, both of whom shared the night with their family and friends. Prime Minister Julia Gillard inducted Australian international pop princess, Kylie Minogue, to the Aria hall of fame.
Following the AIRAs TDC used the VuePix C14 and P18 screens on Eminem tour, Sydney Festival, V8 Supercars and Young Talent Time.
