Videoplus look to the future with Vista

The Videoplus Group comprises of Videoplus and Showcorp who between them have around 57 years experience in technical production, so they certainly know a good lighting product when they see one!

No wonder they now own a mini-family of Jands Vista lighting controllers including a M1, S1 and the recently acquired Vista I3 – the compact and powerful lighting console that provides the software, the processor and the control elements of the Vista T4 console. All you have to do is connect a screen, keyboard and mouse and you’ve got a fully operational Vista with exactly the same software and feature set as the full-size console.

“We decided upon the Vista route because we wanted to be at the cutting edge of modern technology,” reported Harald Mueller, quality manager at Videoplus. “The number of universes and channels used in lighting these days has increased dramatically and with moving light fixtures and things such as LED walls, we need some cutting edge technology to drive it all.”

Although Harald had a survey of the lighting control market, the product information supplied by Jands as well as the cost associated with the product was an opportunity that Videoplus’ CEO Bob Dewstow didn’t want to see pass.

“Also, the level of support tied in with the purchase of the Vista is very important to us,” added Jules Slade, events manager at Videoplus. “It needs to be direct and timely especially as we’re a national supplier and that was one of the key drivers in the decision to purchase Vistas.”

Jules remarked that he particularly liked the intuitive nature of the Vista console and Harald concurred.

“The human machine interface appears to be of great ease to operate,” he said. “We’ve found that our contractors and operators do not have any problems taking on the way of operating Vista. The Vista offers ease of use and versatility particularly the way that different areas can be assigned and split. We need a console for moving lights, a console for media servers, a console for static lights…and the Vista can combine it all in one.”

Harald was keen to publicly thank Jands for their technical support that included a couple of seminars on the Vista. He reports that Jands has been fantastic with their assistance whenever it was required.

“Jands are very proactive in the way that they offer a suite of services,” concluded Jules.
