The prestigious 2024 Oasis Ball, held at the Crown Towers in Perth, not only showcased the best of the Western Australian advertising industry but also set a new standard for audio excellence with the deployment of the VHD5 sound system. This annual event, known for its glitz and glamour, brought together over 1,200 guests for a night of celebration, fundraising, and recognition of the industry’s finest at the Campaign Brief WA Awards.
The client’s brief for the Oasis Ball was clear: deliver the highest quality audio for an audience of over 1,200 pax, ensuring that speeches—crucial for the night’s fundraising efforts—were heard clearly over the lively crowd. With proceeds supporting The Salvation Army’s WA Youth Services, the importance of clear communication during speeches and auctions could not be overstated.
In a collaboration between Entour Production Group, led by Matthew Pountney, and Super Live Productions, led by Kane Pountney, the VHD5 system was selected to meet and exceed these high expectations. The setup included a single VHD5.0 mid-hi module along with 2x VHD8.10 low-mid cabinets, a VHD5.1 downfill per side, and 8x double 21” subwoofers. This configuration provided seamless coverage and unrivalled speech intelligibility across the vast ballroom, ensuring every word resonated clearly with the audience.
