The Role
WAAPA is seeking a Venues and Technical Manager to lead a team of permanent and casual venues and technical staff. Reporting to the Operations Manager, this role will work closely with Academic and Professional staff to manage the Venues, equipment and technical requirements at WAAPA. This is a fixed-term replacement position while the incumbent is seconded to work on the transition to City Campus.
You will be an excellent communicator, capable of working both independently and collaboratively with a range of internal and external stakeholders. You will be highly organised and comfortable with working to tight deadlines. You will also enjoy using your highly developed interpersonal and problem-solving skills to resolve issues and devise mutually beneficial solutions.
Key Criteria
To be successful in this role you will have significant experience managing multiple venues in a performing arts environment. While not essential, experience with performing arts and educational technology systems is highly desirable. You will be able to demonstrate:
- Exceptional communication skills, including the ability to consult, negotiate and network effectively with a wide range of stakeholders at all levels.?
- The ability to act with high levels of autonomy, initiative, adaptability, and with attention to detail.
- Experience leading teams in supporting live theatre productions and/or music performances, including broad technical skills adaptable to different performing arts scenarios.
- A good understanding of the unique operational and technical challenges presented by performing arts in an educational context.
- demonstrated experience in implementing innovative solutions that enhance performance quality, audience experience, and operational efficiency.
- Expertise in leveraging performing arts and educational technology systems to optimize venue management and event delivery.

This full time, fixed-term position attracts remuneration of $97,113 to $108,813 pa (HEW 7) plus 17% University superannuation contribution.
