Darebin is situated on the Traditional Owner lands of the Wurundjeri Woi Wurrung people. About the Role
This role forms part of the Operations and Technical Team that is responsible for all operational, technical and front of house support for NTHAC including performances and events. It the first point of contact for all patrons, hirers and visitors to the Arts Precincts.
The Technical Team is responsible for the delivery and oversight of all technical matters relating to the use of Arts Precincts facilities including, client liaison, provision of technical advice and support, customer service, workplace safety, maintenance and security of all centre’s technical equipment.
This role takes an important lead in the delivery of the Arts Program by providing direct technical support to artists and productions hosted in Arts Precincts facilities.
Duties
- Provide friendly, focussed and flexible customer service to patrons, hirers and users of Northcote Town Hall Arts Centre (NTHAC)
- Supervise technical casual staff as directed
- Assist in the delivery of the Arts Precincts’ program of events and activities
- Provide a high-quality, safe and sustainable technical service (lighting, audio, audio visual and staging) for presenters and hirers of NTHAC
- Assist the Production Supervisor with all aspects of technical production at NTHAC
Skills & Experience
- Demonstrated experience in the production and technical operation of a live theatre or performing arts centre including operational skills in theatre Lighting, Sound & Staging, counterweight flying systems including rigging and dogging methodologies as they apply to flying scenery and other items
- Demonstrated ability to supervise support technical staff
- Demonstrated capacity to work within small and flexible team environment
- Demonstrated ability to work productively with a range of community and professional organisations
- Demonstrated ability to use a variety of MS software and Theatre Lighting and sound equipment and software
