Venue Technician

POSITION PURPOSE

The Venue Technician position is a casual role in the PACT team and is responsible for overseeing the nightly running of the programmed performance/s.

This round of recruitment will seek to develop a pool of Venue Technician staff that will be offered shifts on a monthly basis as they arise.

Position Status: Casual

Hours of duty: Shifts times will usually be approximately 3.5-5 hours

Remuneration: $30 per hour

Superannuation: In line with statutory guidelines, currently 10%

Annual leave: N/A

Personal leave: N/A

RELATIONSHIPS

The Venue Technician reports directly to the Production Manager and Associate Producer liaising with the venue staff eg. Front of House staff

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES

Venue Technicians will:

• Assist the Production Manager with the bump-in and bump-out of shows

• Work with the show operators to ensure the shows run smoothly for the nightly program of events

• Liaise with Front of House Staff

ENVIRONMENT & POSITION CHALLENGES 
PACT centre for emerging artists is situated on the land of the Gadigal People. PACT has a small team including one full time and two part-time positions. Staff are located in an intimate office space, where close working relationships, open communication and a sense of humour are essential to the maintenance of a creative and calm environment. KEY SELECTION CRITERIA 
Demonstrated ability in lighting, sound and/or audio visual theatrical operation. 

Knowledge of: 

• WH&S, Fire Safety and First Aid compliance for theatres 

• working independently in lighting setup

• lighting operation

•signal flow in lighting and AV setups for theatre

• Bump-in and bump-out procedures 

• Maintaining theatre equipment 

• Working independently in lighting bump in and A/V set up 

Desired skills: 

• Senior First Aid Certificate 

• Test and Tag Certificate 

• Fire Safety Certificate 

• WH&S Certificate 

• Drivers License 

• Riggers Ticket 

• Working at Heights Ticket
