Venue Technical Services Supervisor

We are seeking a skilled and motivated Venue Technical Services Supervisor to lead the delivery of technical services across our cultural venues. Reporting to the Cultural Venues Coordinator, you’ll be responsible for ensuring our venues and technical systems are event-ready, safe, and maintained to a high standard.

This leadership role coordinates technical resources and service delivery across a diverse program of community, artistic and touring events. You’ll work closely with venue activation and service teams, liaise with hirers and touring professionals, and lead a high-performing technical crew to deliver exceptional experiences for all users.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Leading and mentoring a skilled technical team, developing rosters, training plans and resource strategies for a seven-day operation
  • Managing venue technical equipment, systems, maintenance schedules and asset renewals
  • Collaborating with internal teams and external clients to ensure seamless technical delivery
  • Ensuring compliance with OH&S, risk management, and emergency procedures
  • Contributing to technical budgets and advising on future resourcing and capital investment


Some after-hours work is required to support events and team needs.

A BIT ABOUT YOU:

You’re a proactive and experienced leader in technical services, event production or venue operations, with a passion for delivering high-quality outcomes in a dynamic environment.

To be successful in this role, you’ll bring:

  • Proven experience leading technical or operational teams in venues, production or events
  • Strong knowledge of event production, technical asset management and venue operations
  • Demonstrated experience managing compliance, OH&S, and risk in complex environments
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
  • Relevant qualifications in event operations, technical production or facilities management
  • Budget and resource management capability across multiple priorities
