Venue Support Coordinator, Sound NSW

$106,025 – $117,363 base + super & leave loading

Sound NSW is a dedicated office in the NSW Government committed to the growth, development, and promotion of contemporary music in NSW. By championing and investing in contemporary music, Sound NSW aims to foster creative careers, encourage innovation, enhance export opportunities, and create positive outcomes for artists, industry professionals, music businesses, and audiences.

As the Venue Support Coordinator, you’ll be instrumental in supporting and developing sustainable infrastructure for live performance venues. Reporting to the Manager of Music Investments and Partnerships, you’ll play a key role in driving the contemporary music industry’s growth by providing expert guidance and advice, and developing funding frameworks and guidelines to drive growth in the contemporary music industry. In this role you will make a tangible impact on the contemporary music scene in NSW. In this role you will:

  • Advise live music venues on infrastructure development, planning, and government regulations.
  • Support venues through the Venues Unlocked grants application process and provide guidance developing project plans, monitoring performance, managing risks, and ensuring timely delivery and compliance.
  • Coordinate assessment panels, providing accurate documentation and reporting,
  • Liaise with local councils to promote the Venues Unlocked program.
  • Work across teams and with the wider agency to ensure alignment of plans, resolve issues, and deliver agreed outcomes.
  • Oversee project management, procurement, and support services to meet quality standards, budgets, and timeframes.
  • Build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, providing advice on emerging issues and risks.

About You

To be successful within this role, you will have:

  • Experience in civic or cultural infrastructure project management or a related field.
  • Knowledge and experience of local government planning regulations and processes.
  • Relevant tertiary qualifications or demonstrated, equivalent professional experience.
