Venue Services Officer – Technician (Aboriginal & Torres Strait Island people)

$69,987.32 + Super

About Darebin City Council Darebin is situated on the Traditional Owner lands of the Wurundjeri Woi-wurrung people. It is home to many Aboriginal community-controlled organisations, and a large number of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people work, live and play within the municipality. About the Role
The Visitor Services Officer Technician provides technical support and service across the Northcote Town Hall Performing Arts Centre’s spaces to resident companies and producers, artists and hire clients. If you are an experienced theatre technician who is friendly, engaging and loves interacting with creative people, then this role is for you. The main responsibilities of this role include:

• Sound, lighting, staging and AV setups and pack-downs
• Operate sound, lighting and AV equipment during performances and events
• Work closely with producers and artists to solve problems and deliver safe events
• Administration and event planning support

Skills & Experience
• A working knowledge of theatre lighting, sound, AV and stage equipment including related software
• Previous experience in a ‘hands on’ capacity delivering safe and successful events in a performing arts environment.
• Current Level 2 First Aid Certificate (Darebin can provide this training if required)
• A current employee Working with Children Check or willingness to obtain one
