Venue Services Officer – Technician

  • Permanent, Part Time (76 hours per four-weeks period)
  • Salary circa $63k p.a. plus super (pro rata)
  • Darebin Arts Centre location, accessible by tram, train, bus and bike

About the Role

Venue Services Officer – Technicians work within our Operations and Technical team that is responsible for all operational, technical and front of house support for the Arts Precincts activities, including performances and events.

The role supports and assists with the centre’s diverse arts program by delivering technical support to our valued presenters, artists and patrons

  • Ensure effective and proactive liaison with clients to determine and deliver technical requirements for events
  • Provide a high-quality, safe and sustainable technical service (lighting, audio, audio visual and staging)
  • Ensure the safety, cleanliness and security of the building during productions
  • Maintain accurate and detailed records of venue or equipment usage and maintenance of equipment

The successful incumbent will be required to work some evenings and weekends.

Skills and Experience

  • Experience in technical service delivery, preferrably in an arts or cultural centre environment
  • Understanding of the production and technical operation of a live theatre or performing arts centre
  • Well developed face-to-face customer service delivery skills
