Support Act pays tribute to Mick Mazzone
We are deeply saddened to hear of the passing of Mick Mazzone — a true legend of the Australian music industry, whose talent, generosity and dedication left an indelible mark on all who had the privilege of working with him.
A gifted Technical Director and Production Manager, Mick’s expertise shaped countless iconic events across music, corporate, and broadcast landscapes. From designing and managing stage and technical production for major awards shows like the APRAs and ARIAs, to consulting on installation and design for high-profile conferences and launches, Mick’s professionalism and creative vision set the highest standard.
Throughout his remarkable career, Mick worked with many amazing artists — from Ian Moss, the Radiators, Midnight Oil, Hoodoo Gurus and Jon English to Bon Jovi, Sting and Madonna — earning the respect and admiration of all who knew him. As founder of Mighty Management and M Records, he helped shape the careers of numerous Australian acts, always championing homegrown talent.
Beyond the stage and studio, Mick was a passionate supporter of charitable causes. Mick and his team have donated their technical skills and services for Support Act’s annual “Music in the House” fundraiser since its inception in 2006. His support for the Golden Stave and many other children’s and community foundations was recognised in 2018 when he was awarded the Medal of the Order of Australia (OAM) for his service to the music industry and to the community.
We extend our heartfelt condolences to his family, friends, and the many colleagues who loved and admired him.
