Touring Industries Like To Day Party

When Untitled Group asked Touring Industries to produce a stage for the Sydney instalment of their ‘Day Party’ event, they fired up their “do something different machine”, and decided a beer garden oasis won the competition.

Touring Industries went down the alternative route to a video screen behind a DJ, and used 80sqm of green fern foliage as the backdrop to the Day Party, which was then toned by floor LED cycs. Stylist Peri jumped at the opportunity to source, buy and organise a 3-ton truck full of plants when asked to style the stage.

They blew off the dust and screwed in all 350 incandescent lamps in Chameleon’s Jarags which stood tall behind headline DJs Denis Sulta & Mella Dee. GLP Impression X4s went on top of the Jarag towers and a single X4 was used as a ‘god light’ reminding the crowd of the blessing the DJs were bringing to the dance floor.

Four Martin Atomic LEDs punched the front row in the face whilst also casting silhouettes onto the surrounding buildings of the Greenwood Hotel.

An L-Acoustics rig delivered the frequencies to the crowd with 4 x KS28 subwoofers and 4 x A15 Focus tops easily hitting the sound restriction barrier without even trying.

The DJs played on 4 x Pioneer CDJ3000NXS2 and DJM900NXS2 with FOH mixing from an Allen & Heath SQ-5.

Lighting provided by Chameleon Touring Systems | audio provided by The AV Co. | DJ backline provided by Integratd.
